The coast of Wales has no better place for hiking than the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path

In between are huge golden beaches such as Freshwater West, Marloes, Newgale and Newport, tiny harbours like Stackpole Quay, Solva and Porthgain, and inaccessible coves where seals bask in the sun, whilst overhead seabirds swoop and glide on the sea breezes.

One of the great delights of the Coast Path, particularly in Spring and early Summer, is the huge variety of wild flowers in full bloom - thrift, vetch, sea squill, gorse and campion - the colours are breathtaking.

Hikers on the The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Pembrokeshire, Wales

Almost 300 kms (186 miles) in length, the Coast Path runs from Poppit Sands in North Pembrokeshire to Amroth in the South and extends alongside some of the finest coastal scenery in Europe.

To see the best of what Pembrokeshire has to offer you need to abandon the car and don your walking shoes. With the sheer limestone cliffs of Castlemartin Peninsula, the natural arched stone formation of the Green Bridge, the rugged sandstone and granite headlands around St. David's Head , or the towering 150 m high cliffs near Ceibwr all provide awe-inspiring surroundings.
