Whether you are an experienced sailor, prefer a boat trip perhaps to one of the islands or just enjoy watching sailing events, the Pembrokeshire coast has sailing for everyone. This section of UK coastline is warmed by the Atlantic Gulf Stream bringing warm waters and a milder climate. Beyond the Milford Haven Estuary lies 168 miles of dramatic coastline, Britain’s only coastal national park-famous for its offshore islands, sea birds and seals. The Pembrokeshire waterways have something to offer the keen sailor, whether you sail a yacht, catamaran or cruiser, with harbours in Tenby, Saundersfoot, Porthclais, Solva and Porthgain there is expanse of sea to suit all abilities. |

Pembrokeshire is internationally important for its wildlife and a offers ideal opportunities for bird watching. Between them Skomer and Skokholm have the world's largest Manx shearwater population, Grassholm has the second largest gannetry in the North Atlantic (32,000 pairs). The Puffin or “Pembrokeshire Penguin” as it’s been named by a few is also a resident of Skomer Island between April and July, spending the rest of its time at sea. The islands also play host too many more species of bird, Guilliemots and Razorbills are on the cliffs from early May to late July. Kittiwakes, Fulmars and Gulls also nest on this beautiful island. |
